Vestibular Rehabilitation

Precision Physical Therapy’s specialists are trained in a variety of treatment options for vestibular or inner ear disorders. The vestibular system allows us to maintain good balance and clear vision. Vestibular disorders can impact independence and safety by fueling dizziness, vertigo and equilibrium.

Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based therapy that maximizes the body’s natural ability to maintain balance. Most of the exercises are designed to retrain the brain to recognize and process signals from the inner ear, eliminating dizziness. Some treatments involve repositioning of small crystals inside the inner ear to stop a common type of vertigo.

We evaluate you to determine what area of your vestibular system is causing your problems and create a treatment plan to start relieving your symptoms on your first visit. Therapies include balance-retraining exercises, gaze stabilization exercises, sensory organization training and aerobic conditioning. Our goal is to control symptoms, improve your balance, reduce functional disabilities and improve quality of life.
